collectorsbluebook.com Launch Date to Coincide with
the Start of Palm Springs Modernism Week on February 16, 2012
Palm Springs, CA---January 18, 2012….collectorsbluebook.com launches on February 16, 2012. A social networking site for collectors, collectorsbluebook.com’s mission is to make the world of collecting more open and connected by organizing information in a way that makes it universally available and useful.
The core functions of collectorsbluebook are informational listings of dealers, events, antique/flea markets, auctions, thrift stores, and a contributor based library. The goal is to gather information about individual dealers, collecting sites, organizations, clubs, events, and publications into a single worldwide resource for collectors. To accomplish this mission, listings and membership at collectorsbluebook.com are free, and the focus is on the collector, not a specific category of collectible.
collectorsbluebook.com integrates its core database functions into a unique group of interactive real time social networking functions. Newly posted dealer profiles, events, shops and items listed in its Antique Trader Classifieds section are automatically tweeted when they go live @AntiqueFinderPS and posted at www.facebook.com/collectorsbluebook. Submitted videos are shared at PlanetCollects, the collectorsbluebook YouTube Channel. Registered users can create a personal profile page, share photos and video, build interest lists, subscribe to news and events specific to their interests, create reviews of favorite shops and events, and participate in member forums, or even create their own forums.
On February 24, 2012, Goldie, collectorsbluebook’s vintage 1975 GMC Motor Coach, will begin a two year assignment, traveling all over the United States and Canada, visiting collecting events, antique/flea markets, and local shops. Her task, promote the art of collecting and bring social networking to the world of collecting. Along the way, she hopes to give folks a reason to smile, share common interests, an occasional cup of coffee, and stories of treasures found near and far!
